Singing to Our Father
Our Kingdom Children’s Choir sang at the English-speaking Quisqueya Chapel in Port-au-Prince this past December 12. The kids have been learning English for over a year, and so they performed the Vineyard song, Father.
This was just after several days of demonstrations because of rigged election results. Shops had been closed for several days for fear of increased violence, but our kids brought hope even to the missionaries.
One woman who has served in Haiti for almost twenty years said, “I had been so discouraged when I came to church that day, because I felt Haiti would never change. But hearing those children sing gave me a renewed hope. They were such a blessing to me!”
The pastor was also so moved by the simple song that he asked them to sing it again just before the closing prayer and dismissal.
Father, I can call You “Father”
For I am Your child
Today, tomorrow and always
You are my Father
